ALBUMS: Ellen Allien To Release LISm On Vinyl April 1

On April 1st, techno’s leading lady, Ellen Allien gears up for her latest release – “LISm” on her very own BPitch Control. Originally released back in 2013, the album is now being released on vinyl for the very first time. A listening piece, which she calls “a soundtrack that was actually made for a dance performance in Centre Pompidou in Paris,” Ellen Allien’s LISm gives listeners 45 minutes of sonic experiments that will rouse deep emotions.

“LISm” began in 2010 when Allien was approached by two choreographers and dancers to compose music for their dance performance “Drama per Musica”. The music remained resting on her hard drive until 2012, when she decided to revive the stage music for her next album. Calling upon her label mate of many years, Thomas Muller, and the Berlin-based DJ and producer Bruno Pronsato, aka Steven Ford, the threesome produced something that was truly extraordinary. Thoughtfully pieced together by piano motifs and vocal fragments, while playing with parameters such as volume and tonal density, Allien reveals her deeply refined production skills in “LISm”.
