Audien is a familiar face to Toronto crowds, having played at UNIUN Nightclub just over a year ago. This young artist has rapidly skyrocketed to success because of his talent and dedication to music production, and Toronto is lucky to have this trance/progressive house DJ make his way back to our city so soon, returning to UNIUN Nightclub on April 1st, 2016.

Influenced by growing up in a musically expressive family, Nathaniel Rathbun, better known by his stage name Audien, received his moment of recognition on a major scale in 2009 at the age of eighteen. He blindly sent in a demo track to Ferry Corsten with high hopes (and low expectations). Corsten liked what he heard and responded to the track with enthusiasm, releasing the trance single Rise & Shine on his record label Flashover Recordings.
Audien has hit the ground running ever since! His originally produced sounds and reworked hits have been released over a wide selection of imprints, including Enhanced, Armada, Black Hole Recordings, Anjunabeats, Zouk Recordings and Spinnin’ Records. His songs have made their way onto compilation albums and have appeared on radio broadcasts, gaining recognition on Corsten’s Countdown, Tiesto‘s Club Life, Armin Van Buuren‘s A State Of Trace, and Above & Beyond‘s Trance Around The World and Group Therapy (Wayfarer being the first track to ever be played on the brand new radio show ABGT after the retirement of TATW in 2012).
Outside of the trance genre, Audien’s progressive house track SUP was featured on Hardwell On Air #87 as the “Demo Of The Week” and he joined Hardwell on tour shortly after its release. In 2014, his remix of Basille‘s popular synthpop song Pompeii was heavily played in the clubs and at festivals throughout the year, leading to its Grammy nomination for “Best Remixed Recording, Non Classical”. Audien met a lot of success following this achievement: he completed his first headlining tour, became a resident DJ at Marquee Nightclub & Dayclub in Las Vegas’ Cosmopolitan Hotel, and released the four track EP “Daydreams” on a newly signed label contract with Astralwerks.
