2015 saw the launch and success of the Transcendence Series in Waterloo, Ontario. These trance-based nights took place over several weekend nights last spring, headlined by some of the biggest names in the industry: Markus Schulz, Gareth Emery, Norin and Rad, and Simon Patterson.
The promoters at Beta Nightclub have done it again – the second Transcendence Series kicks off at the end of this month with another stacked lineup. EDMTOR contributor Nicole wrote an excellent article outlining what is to be expected at this year’s events, and team writer Edmund’s excitement to see Aly & Fila on the first night is reflected in his event preview!
Our coverage of the series continues with Super8 & Tab. The Finnish trance duo takes control of the decks on Friday April 8th with support from resident DJ Adam Spears. Super8 & Tab were last in the province eight months ago as the special guests at Muzik‘s Anjuna Pool Party with Ilan Bluestone (photos from the event can be found on our Facebook album).
Miika Eloranta (Super8) and Janne Mansnerus (DJ Tab) were initially signed individually to Above & Beyond‘s label Anjunabeats in 2004. They met in the recording studio the following year and made the musical partnership official after collaborating on the singles First Aid and Helsinki Scorchin’. They have grown within the Anjuna family, releasing their debut album “Empire” in 2010 and second studio album “Unified” in 2014, along with countless singles, remixes, and collaborations. They host their own bimonthly show SuperTab Radio which celebrated its 100th episode on February 24th 2016. Over the years, they have been featured as guest artists on Group Therapy Radio, Global DJ Broadcast, and Armada Night Radio and performed at several major international music festivals, including Electric Daisy Carnival Las Vegas, Ultra, Tomorrowland, Luminosity, and multiple A State Of Trance Festivals.
After ten years of recording under Anjunabeats, Super8 & Tab signed to Armada Music‘s Armind imprint and released their first single, Komorebi, on the new label in November of 2015. The newest track from the duo, Moonbow, was revealed two weeks ago on Armin Van Buuren‘s A State Of Trance 751 radio show and released worldwide the same day.
At this time, only 5-day passes for Transcendence have been released. Tickets are available for purchase at $45 each (at the time of when this article was published), and guarantees access to every show in the series. Individual show passes will be sold at a later date – keep informed by joining the official Transcendence Series Facebook Event page.
