A very familiar sounding track from Tomac was offered to me to review recently. Having listened to the Aly & Fila BBC Radio 1 Essential mix countless times by now, I should have been able to connect the dots better. Tomac’s latest single, Mehiel, is the selected opening track to the legendary Essential mix by the Egyptian Trance duo.
Now that I have had the pleasure of enjoying the track on its own, it is easy to see why Aly & Fila selected Mehiel for their opening track to their legendary Essential mix. This release is packed with tons of energy! Mehiel starts off progressively and builds to an epic release. Numerous subtle elements are packed into the track. During the intro Tomac placed a heavy arp’ed bassline to signal to the beginning of an intense journey. I am a big fan of the clear piano key elements he added into the build, as well as the voice samples which I think add so much bliss.
Hailing from Montreal, Canada, and playing regularly at Circus Afterhours, Tomac is no stranger to Trance. He has releases out on Future Sound of Eygpt Excelsior, Red Soho and Rielism on Black Hole Recordings, and has been featured on radio shows like Armin Van Buuren’s A State of Trance and more. Tomac is rising up the ranks. You will be able to witness Tomac live at Trance Unity in Montreal on June 4th, 2016. TeamEDMTOR will be there, so grab tickets before they go up again.
