Emerging from Aix-en-Provence in the South of France comes 19-year-old melodic house protégé Kungs (pronounced Koongs). His new tune This Girl, out now via France’s Barclay Records, is a remix of Australia’s Cookin’ On 3 Burners’ original song, taking the deep soul classic and speeding things up a bit while adding big brass horns along with chopped up vocals to create a more club-oriented vibe, perfect for any dance floor the world over. With already 70k plays in just 10 short days on SoundCloud and major support from Virgin Radio France, This Girl is here just in time to heat things up for spring.

Kungs aka Valentin Brunel started his musical career with a djembe gifted by his parents to him at the age of five. From those early days Valentin would spend entire afternoons listening to rock’n’roll classics with his father. From The Who to The Kooks and everything else in-between, this essential listening laid the groundwork for Kungs as an artist. Discovering a passion for electronic music as a teenager, Kungs became deeply interest in melodic sounds and crafted timbres lead by a dominant vocal. With official remixes for Axwell & Ingrosso and Lost Frequencies, racking up more than 16 million views on YouTube, his first original track To Describe You has already seen over 1 million plays on SoundCloud.

Kungs began 2016 by supporting David Guetta on his Listen Tour across Europe as well as Oliver Heldens across two key dates in Germany. This Girl marks the beginning of what’s to come from the young Frenchman in 2016.
