GLOWINTHEDARK returns to Dim Mak with the dangerously sultry “Stars & Moon” EP. The offering oozes with buttery vocals and a hodgepodge of electronic stylings – from bouncy house melodies to blistering trap beats. Experimenting with a soul-crushing combo of liquid rhythms and unpredictable bass drops across six varied tracks, the overall result is a bubbling concoction of catchable vibrations that has captivated the Beatport charts. Last week the record sat comfortably with #1 spots on Electro House and Pop Rock, and reached #2 on the Hip Hop chart, with additional placement across the House and Overall Releases charts.
Chart-topping hits are nothing new for the Dutch stars, having already conquered the accolade with David Guetta on the massive Beatport #2 Progressive banger Ain’t A Party, as well as on the #3 Electro mainstay Clap Your Hands. With “Stars & Moon” GLOWINTHEDARK continue to hone their craft. The record signifies the duo’s highly anticipated return to Dim Mak, following their massive Deorro collaboration Rave Century.
The EP is lead by two powerful singles – the trap heavy Fire Alarm (feat. Alicia Madison) and the energetic Hasse de Moor collaboration Make It Swing. YourEDM premiered the latter, swearing it’s “simply fascinating” and “all hype from the minute you press play.” Closing out the release is the sultry UKG-influenced house number Loving U (feat. Justin Stein), which showcases both the duo’s love for soul music and their confidence in genre experimentation.
