WORLD EVENTS: Anjunadeep Announces Stage at Electric Zoo

0

This upcoming Memorial Day weekend, Anjunadeep will make their Electric Zoo: Wild Island debut with a specially curated stage on Friday, September 2. Anjunadeep was launched in 2005 by UK rave deities Above & Beyond, pushing music from the deeper end of the electronic spectrum. In the decade since, Anjunadeep has developed a sterling reputation for pushing deep house towards levels of artistry not often expected on the dancefloor, in turn launching a generation of artists who are always a step ahead of the curve.

Whether it’s Dusky or Lane 8, Moon Boots or Jody Wisternoff, Cubicolor or Yotto, Anjunadeep releases always find artists adding a dash of intelligence and emotion into the music–a tradition presumably passed down from Above & Beyond themselves, who have brought more feelings to dancefloors than any other artist to ever grace a 4-4 beat. It’s no surprise that recent Anjunadeep releases have found their way into the sets of everyone from Dixon and Laurent Garnier through to Eric Prydz and Disclosure.

The Anjuna name brings with it a strong pedigree in festival culture, having hosted stages at major festivals around the globe. But when Anjunadeep hits the shores ofElectric Zoo: Wild Island, it will be the label’s biggest outing ever, and a coming-of-age that will cement the label’s status as a global leader in house music in its own right.

Anjunadeep’s lineup forElectric Zoo: Wild Island is studded with tastemakers of today and stars of tomorrow. The infallible Åme will merge mood and groove into bodymoving poetry, while Anjunadeep stalwart Lane 8 and recent label favorite Moon Boots, will represent the breadth of Anjunadeep’s current fluency in house. Legendary progressive house pioneers Way Out West will perform a live set, reuniting Nick Warren and Jody Wisternoff, two heroes of Bristolian dance music who have proven to be timeless.

Pay close attention to the undercard assembled for Anjunadeep’s journey to Electric Zoo: Wild Island! Label upstarts Yotto and Cubicolor will show the future of the Anjunadeep sound, while a rare appearance from critically adored Austrian live deep house band HVOB is not to miss. Direct from the NYC underground, ReSolute resident Lauren Ritter will set the appropriately deep vibes for Anjunadeep’s deep house journey at Electric Zoo: Wild Island.

And remember! Anjundadeep may not be a trance label, but they still know a thing or two about the feels. Bring tissues, your dancing shoes, and prepare yourself for hugs.
