EVENT PREVIEW: Electric Star Productions (ESP) presents: Oldskool Vibes @ Club 120 – 09-30-2016

Anyone looking for an excuse to go out on a Friday night would be hard-pressed to find a better one than attending an Electric Star Productions (ESP) event, but Friday, September 30th, 2016, will be no ordinary night! ESP has gathered some of Toronto’s top local Hardcore DJs (and an international headliner!) to revive those Oldschool Vibes at Club 120 in support of the Toronto Distress Center and their efforts toward suicide prevention. Come and dance your heart out to the best Happy Hardcore beats in the city, proudly support an organization that provides a lifesaving service to thousands of individuals in need throughout the city each year, and celebrate P.L.U.R. (Peace, Love, Unity, Respect) with an unbelievable musical lineup!

International headliner Sc@r has returned to Canada from the land Down Under and will be spinning a guest performance not to be missed! This Hardcore star has had bookings all over the world, and counts among her significant accomplishments spinning at some of the most premier UK music events for her genre, including HTID, Hardcore Heaven, Fantazia, Fusion, Firewall, Horizon, and Raindance, as well as performing for 20,000 at Wembley Stadium for Color Run! She has made many, many radio appearances, and launched her own record label in 2012: Scarred Digital. She has also been featured in many other compilation records including Bonkers and Hardcore Underground 2013.

M’asstodon Soundcrew’s DJ Virus will be performing with MC Gobstoppa (more recently revived as Gobs the Zombie), who will be making a special appearance at this event. A longtime raver with roots that go wayyy back, Virus’s unique Japanese-flavoured Hardcore is particularly celebrated at events like Anime North, where he has played their annual Otakubaloo rave. Gobstoppa is taking a step away from his usual Bass genre this night, but his rave roots run true and I, for one, am excited to see what this dynamic duo will bring to the decks!

Friskya name unheard for a while, is returning to the decks for one night only! This Hullabaloo legend was a resident DJ from their very first event to One More Group Hug, and spun at the Hullabaloo stage at WEMF (World Electronic Music Festival) in 1998, 1999, 2001, and 2002. With a style most often described as “trancey hardcore”, this Toronto artist has also performed more recently (but not that recently) for Nocturnal Commissions events, and shared the stage with big names like Gammer, Al Storm, DJ Breeze, DJ Elixir, Sharkey, and DJ Vibes.

ESP resident DJ Fraktl is as renowned in the city for his musical versatility as he is for his particular passion for Hardcore. Fraktl’s inspired talent for reading the crowd makes every set killer – this should be no exception! With his extensive library and 15+ years of experience to draw on, I am hoping Fraktl will have some awesome classics to drop for us that will draw out everyone’s Oldschool Vibes.

Returning to the country to join us for the night is local hardcore hero, DJ Dynamic, to round out the stellar lineup for the night. DJ Dynamic has spent years bringing amazing music to Toronto, both personally and working through various promotional companies to import international talent. A familiar face in the EDM scene, his passion for rave culture and Happy Hardcore are unparalleled, so expect to be dancing until the last beats hits the floor and the house lights dim, because this will be a rave to remember!

RSPV and join the hype on the official event page here, and visit the Toronto Distress Center here. See you on the dance floor!
