EVENT PREVIEW: Dirty Decibels presents The Thumpin’ Pumpkin @ District 28 28-10-16

With Halloween celebrations in full swing this weekend there’s going to be a lot of events to check out all over the city. If you have a great costume idea planned but nowhere to show it off yet, or if you’re just looking to dance and party the night away, swing by District 28 (located at 28 Logan Ave) and check out the amazing lineup of great artists at The Thumpin’ Pumpkin.

Claiming that this will be their biggest party yet, Dan & Ben (Dirty Decibels) have grabbed up a “special warehouse event space” to unleash their bass laden, deep and soulful house tracks. This event is not only going to be packed with people but also with activities and art to keep you occupied during any breaks you take off the dance floor. Dirty Decibels has lined up Maquillaje Artistico & Body ART to provide Face Painting and Body Art (a great substitution if you can’t figure out what to wear or don’t have time to plan a spooky or sexy costume) and a Costume Photo Booth by Richard Rotter to help you remember the night. If you don’t get a chance to hit up the Costume Photo Booth, don’t sweat it, there will be a Photographer (Ded Pixel) catching all the action as well.

The artist lineup for the night is sure to keep you feeling their tracks deep down into your soul thanks to Westbury International who is providing the sound system. Talent being showcased at the event are:

Detroit Swindle – is a duo straight from Amsterdam. Lars Dales & Maarten Smeets decided to form the group in 2011; this event was sparked after Lars fired Maarten at a nightclub for playing too much underground music. Bonding through their shared love of music they successfully put the dismissal behind them and moved forward, eventually launching their own label Heist Recordings.  If that wasn’t enough to keep them busy, these self-proclaimed “record diggers and synth hunters” also operate a nightclub called The Great Escape. With their music taste jumping from genre to genre, decade to decade, they infuse their tracks with bumping baselines to help you get your groove on.

Dirty Decibels – Throwing Toronto’s best monthly dance parties, Dirty Decibels is at the top of the food chain when it comes to local talent. Spearheaded by (Deep and Soulful House enthusiasts) Ben and Dan, Dirty Decibels is sure to keep you swinging a spooky step or two on the dance floor. These two are nothing less than prolific when it comes to getting up on stage and putting on a great show. You can expect their tracks to have your head bopping more than a bobblehead on Friday night.

Sean Roman – Influenced by Disco, House, Techno and Soul, Sean Roman (a homegrown Toronto DJ) was added to the bill just three days before the event. You can bet on the fact that he’ll be dropping some heavy Drum and Bass mixed in with some House.

The party is set to kickoff at 9PM and goes until 4 in the morning. Tickets, which can be purchased by clicking here, are being sold in tiers. The first two early bird deals were for $20 and $35 but sadly have are sold out at this time. You can still catch 2 other deals though; currently the tickets are going for $40 but if you use the discount (IN-B4_TEN) when purchasing you can gain entry for $25 if you arrive before 10pm. If you fail to arrive before 10pm when using this discount ticket you will be asked to add the extra $25 to cover the full door admission price of $50. After 11pm the tickets may see a price increase as well, so be sure to get there early! You’re not going to want to miss a second of this; this party is so highly anticipated that folks on Facebook have mentioned that they’ve changed flights just to be there!
