Riding high on the success of Escape 138 and Escape Together, which took Rebel by storm, Electric Escape announces their next big event series called U4RIA starting on January 27, 2017. Further solidifying their reputation as purveyors of some of the city’s finest Trance parties, this event – hosted at Toronto’s own Maison Mercer – boasts a show with sets tailored to address a specific fan request, and headlines leading international artists from the UK and Holland.
Trance, as a genre and an experience, conveys an essence that draws in its listeners. Confining this organic experience with set times can often disrupt the mood, and expanding events into massive club venues can sometimes detract from the intimate atmosphere that its fans value. Addressing this opportunity, Electric Escape has planned a series of events, U4RIA, igniting the sequence as the first installment. This series is designed to allow fans the trance experience they crave, with longer set times so artists can build the trance shows that truly live up to their name and “entrance”. In order to facilitate this, the talent for the night has been carefully selected.
Craig Connelly burst onto the scene in 2010, winning the Super8 & Tab Empire remix competition. June 2011 saw the release of Absolute Electric – his first original production – and, championed by the likes of Armin van Buuren, John O’Callaghan, and Gareth Emery, it boosted him to stardom, reaching #2 on the Beatport chart. He reached #1 in 2013 with Black Hole, a song he made with Christina Novelli, in a mere two days, and has not slowed since. Playing events and festivals at home and abroad, Craig has touched down on several continents, produced 12 Top 10 selling trance tracks, and worked with labels such as Garuda, Armada, Black Hole, and Decibels Radio. Burning up radio waves and dance floors alike, Craig is a force to keep your eye on!
James Dymond hails from a classical music background and was propelled to the forefront of the Trance music scene when his track Gundam was featured on Armin van Buuren’s Universal Religion Chapter 6 CD compilation under Armind Recordings in 2011. Continuing to improve his skill, James collaborated in 2015 with Aly & Fila (Future Sound of Egypt) on hits like Echoes, Defector, and With & Without You ft Neve White, with Ben Nicky on Refresh, as well as producing Slingshot, Millenium, and Siren’s Song. He has worked with the Armada, FSOE, WAO138, Soundpiercing, Aropa, and Mental Asylum labels and has opened the Who’s Afraid of 138 ASOT stage in front of a crowd of 5,000. James Dymond breathes new life into trance music, expressing his passion for sound and rhythm and delighting thousands as he continues to follow his vision forward.
Jorn van Deynhoven is a trance artist whose success soared following the release of his track New Horizons, which was voted in as the official anthem for ASOT 650 in 2014. He excels at remixes, and Jorn pursued this passion with remixes of Armin van Buuren ft Richard Bedford‘s Love Never Came, RAM’s RAMsterdam, Full Tilt ft Katrina Noorbergen‘s Letting Go and Svenson & Gielen‘s Twisted. Continuing to release a stream of tracks, several of which hit the #1 spot on Beatport’s charts and played on ASOT radio, Jorn also began to DJ internationally at festivals like Tomorrowland, Luminosity, Trancemission, and Beyond Wonderland among many others. He churned out crowd-pleasers like We Can Fly and Flashback in 2016, and will now return to the decks of Maison Mercer to share his music with Toronto’s trance scene.
