Next Wednesday, February 1st, 2017, sees the return of the Century Room Series at the Everleigh, presented by Heineken. Nestled in the heart of downtown Toronto, this year’s inaugural edition features the talents of Damian Lazarus, Chase & Christensen, and locals Sam Haze and Iris Santo in a back-to-back set. Starting at 10:30, ambitious midweek music-lovers can expect a full night of groovy techno, deep and progressive house for just $15 a head.

Hailing from Whitechapel, United Kingdom, Damian Lazarus has long been a household name in the world of UK dance music. Active since the early 2000’s, Lazarus is probably most well known for his label Crosstown Rebels, which features artists such as Felix Da Housecat, Art Department and Maceo Plex. Lazarus is a formidable presence behind the decks spinning choice morsels of house and techno music. Although he has mixed multiple compilation albums and was responsible for numerous singles, his first full-length studio album Smoke the Monster Out, didn’t make its debut until 2009. Most recently Damian paired with The Ancient Moons to produce a number of singles and a full length album of groovy deep house and techno titled: Message From The Other Side.

Toronto talent and Century Room Series veteran Sam Haze makes his return to the Everleigh with another B2B set and his superb melange of house music is sure to delight. Having entered the Toronto scene back in 2007, Haze is most frequently found at venues such as CODA opening for and supporting such acts as Art Department, Pleasurekraft, Seth Troxler and Roger Sanchez to name but a few. Last month found Haze taking over the 94th episode of the Secret Society Sessions radio program alongside Mystic Mind.

Playing a captivating blend of deep house and techno, Toronto local Iris Santo can often be found gracing one of Toronto’s many clubs, such as CODA, Nest, Maison, and Mod Club. Over the past several years Santo has had the opportunity to play to audiences all around the world, at festivals such as Ultra Europe 2015, Ultra Korea 2016 and most recently, the BPM Festival in Mexico. Iris has also produced a number of stellar original tracks, such as Zeenith, and my personal favourite: Galactica.

If you’re a fan of house, techno, or anything in between then join us on Wednesday as we revel in a night of melifluous musical stylings. We hope to see all you music-lovers out there.
