Mentis is following up on the good vibes from Innerdance II with another beautifully planned event to chase away the winter doldrums in a rush of sound and colour! 160 Bartley Dr. is pleased to host Innerdance III on January 21st, 2017. Organic Family Promotion Group will be transforming the venue into a vibrant, comfortable space, ideal for experiencing the musical narratives of the evening’s talent. Mentis envisions Innerdance III as a winter festival – a breath of fresh air that will recapture, for a moment, the magic of the summer festival season during these colder darker months, and rejuvenate, while carrying forward, the promise of spring. A unique, twelve-hour event, Innerdance III will begin at 10pm on January 21st and end at 10am on January 22nd.

Sojourning to our fair city from Sweden, international talent Logic Bomb will be gracing the decks for Innerdance III! Inspired by the growing community forming around a fascinating new genre of music they witnessed immigrate to Europe from Goa, India, Jonas Pettersson and Johan Krafft formed Logic Bomb over 15 years ago. Captured by psychedelic trance, they seek to recreate the magic of those first, mystical encounters. Logic Bomb broke onto the Psytrance scene with its first album, Headware, on Spiral Trax in 2000, and a second, Unlimited, on TIP World two years later. Resurfacing on the scene in 2007 with Sonic Algebra after a long absence, Logic Bomb’s fuse is again lit as the duo prepares for the release of its 4th and most recent album, The Grid, with Z-Plane Records.

Local Psytrance legend Audi Étoffe will also be joining the lineup. A resident DJ at Acid Reign Productions and Electric Star Productions, he is renowned in the Toronto EDM scene for his signature energetic progressive Psytrance. Audi excels at building beautifully structured sets that push and pull the listener along, and adapting to the ebb and flow of the night as well as the energies on the dance floor. Consistently creating music that answers the mood of the moment and burns up dance floors across Toronto’s club and festival circuits, Audi’s love of Psytrance shines through in every beat.

Picking up the narrative threads, Mythrophan (Space GOat), also known for his techno project MYDÄ (with Amir Daäna), has almost a decade of experience mixing and spinning progressive and fullon psytrance, various subgenres of techno, and tech-house. He has spun for Eclipse – Canada’s premier Psytrance festival – as well as Timeless Festival and the Orion NYE event in Montreal. Sensitive to the flow of musical currents, Mythrophan builds with smooth, harmonically balanced tones, blending in more complex transitions throughout.

Montreal-based duo Protocell will also be returning to Toronto for Innerdance III. The brainchild of Decipher and Synthetic, Protocell blends the considerable individual talents – and nearly 25 years combined experience – of Bander Decipher and Neil Synthetik. The pair have performed at many events and festivals across Canada, sharing the decks with Avalon, BioGenisis, and Materia, to name a few.

Joining these other talented musical storytellers, Animalium brings with him a deep passion for fullon Psytrance influenced by his Portugese heritage. In 2011, Animalium moved to Toronto and, three years later, began his music career in earnest. Continuing to consistently produce quality tracks, he has burned up dance floors at venues across the city, including Lily Lounge, Smiling Buddha, Geary Lane, Club 120, Nocturne, Velvet Underground, and Bassline, as well as Wild Summer Festival. Involving himself at a community level, Animalium also enjoys lending his support to the emerging Toronto Psytrance scene.

Plan B has been a steady fixture in the Toronto Psytrance scene and the co-founder of the Shakti Collective. Upon his discovery of Psytrance, after moving to Toronto from his native Poland, Plan B bent his considerable focus to the goal of unlocking the secrets of this mystical genre. His achievements have been considerable, performing, both nationally and internationally Eclipse and Harvest Festivals, Space Gathering, Sacred Earth Festival, and numerous smaller events.

Another master weaver of Psytrance narratives, Magic Mushroom never fails to disappoint behind the decks! An early connoisseur of music, he learned quickly and once he started there was no stopping him. Graduating from basic mixes to regular club bookings, a decade in the scene has solidified his reputation in the Psytrance community and his sets are legendary for reenergizing dance floors across the city.

No stranger to EDM, Minnafa, another of our musical guides, has been in love with scene for over 20 years though only more recently began participating in a new role. She delights in sound and is deeply moved by and values Psytrance, as a genre, for its meditative properties as well as its organic aesthetic. Originally focusing on fullon morning and goa styles, Minnafa has since expanded her horizons to include dark and forest Psytrance, as well as some techno, and generally prefers to spin around the 150 bpm mark.

Other talent for Innerdance III will include Playdifferent and Ogichidaa. Mentis will continue to announce further additions to the lineup on the event page, so stay tuned for the latest news and updates on this happening event! Advance tickets are 25$, Regular 30$, and cost at the door will be 30$ until midnight. Tickets can be purchased via etransfer to groupmentis@gmail.com; the name(s) given must match picture ID, and be certain to include the etransfer password.
