DJ and producer Saad Ayub began his musical career at the age of 18 and quickly became a cultural architect, contributing significantly to building the dance music scene that is now active in his native Bangladesh. His unique style is high-bpm and progressive, and he is also known for his long (8-hour) sets. Dipping into both the dark basslines of psytrance and the uplifting melodies of pure trance, Ayub’s sets are distinguished by distinct pulsating tones that build a euphoric atmosphere and burn up dance floors with the buildup of charged energy. Unconfined by his chosen genres, Saad is also known for shaking up his sets with some occasional drum n’ bass or dubstep elements. It wasn’t long before he was asked to headline for bigger and bigger shows, eventually opening as resident DJ when the Ministry of Sound UK’s World Tour came to Bangladesh.
In 2011, Saad Ayub left Bangladesh for Canadian shores and swiftly made a name for himself within the Trance facet of Toronto’s EDM community. The physical move seemed to mirror an internal shift as well, and Saad began to focus more strongly on the production side of things, but he never lost his love of performing live and maintained a residency at two major Toronto clubs: Maison Mercer and RYZE. Within the last year, he began building his performance following again, and debuted internationally at Nocturnal Wonderland festival in California, after playing the Trance stage at Digital Dreams, Anjunabeats and Coldharbour shows, and opening and closing for dozens of shows, including big names like Super8 and Tab, Ilan Bluestone, and Orjan Nilsen.
Saad’s authenticity as a performer and his grounded and generous personality have helped him grow his following through connecting with his fans aka the #SaadSquad via his live sets and his weekly radio show podcast #TRANCED. In celebration of the 200th episode of #TRANCED – and the 10th year of his DJ career – Saad Ayub has arranged TRANCED200, an event at Nest on Saturday, January 14th, 2017, where he will occupy the decks for a 6 hour set from 10PM to 4AM. As a special thank you to the fans and supporters who have helped propel his fame, Saad has made this event free to enter before midnight!
Please RSVP to guestlist@nest.to to be placed on the guest list for this special open-to-close night. Bottle service is also available at Nest, and reservations can be made by calling 416.792.9488. Doors open at 10.
