Trance warriors assemble! It seems like just yesterday that Trance Sessions blessed us with an uplifting trance masterclass and three long-awaited debuts on the 22nd of April, 2017. It really has only been a few weeks, and now they are at it again! This weekend, for the first time ever in Toronto, Dan Stone will be blessing our ears with his heavenly trance sounds within the familiar walls of Populus.

You can enter the contest here on Dan Stone’s Facebook page.

Starting the night off will be a tasty back-to-back set from Trance Sessions resident DJ Brian Longmire and his good friend, American heartthrob Nick Brzezinski, better known to his adoring fans as M45. B-Long and M45 have played a few times on the same bill, but this will be their first booking together as a B2B! 16586975_1266976966715326_2879029917936138108_oHaving supported some of trance’s biggest names in the last 12 months, both come with a wealth of knowledge on trance music’s big hits and hidden gems. They start at 10PM and will be spinning until about 12AM, so make sure to come early and catch as much of their B2B as possible. They will not disappoint. Use the links provided at the bottom of the page to go check out Brian’s Keep It Pure or M45’s New Age Sessions podcasts.

Hailing from the eastern shores of England, Dan Stone began spinning in some of the UK’s various nightclubs around the turn of the century. He got his big start in 2006 when he released with his first major label: Anjunabeats. Since then, he has gone on to play around the world at some of the biggest trance clubs and shows around, such as Gatecrasher, Ministry of Sound, A State Of Trance and Future Sound of Egypt milestone events, and has released on other labels such as the iconic Armada and Enhanced. Dan has since joined the Future Sound Of Egypt roster under label bosses and Egyptian trance legends Aly and Fila, and in the last couple of years he exploded onto the scene in a BIG way, rising up through the ranks to become a prominent name in the uplifting scene. Anjunabeats has said that “Dan Stone’s productions continue to grow from strength to strength,” while also calling him “an English master of epic chord progressions”, and even Armada and ASOT’s label boss, the beloved Trance “Godfather”, Armin Van Buuren has weighed in saying “Dan Stone is definitely one of those guys that simply knows how it’s done!” So, really, you don’t have to take my word for it.

Not only is this his first chance to play in Toronto, but Dan Stone will be playing an EXTENDED set for the trance faithful! This means that we will be treated to a longer and more comprehensive, simply put, a better set, because the DJ will be able to take us on a musical journey over his 4+ hours behind the decks. Choosing the tracks and sets to include in this preview was hard because Dan is such a treasure trove of huge remixes, mashups and originals. Here is a mad mashup involving Pendulum’s Island and Ferrin and MorrisPacific called Pacific Island (Dan Stone Mashup).

Then there is his epic remix of Luke Bond‘s smash hit with Cartel from last year called Once More..

..and this massive release which peaked last week at Number 1 on the Beatport trance chart; a collaboration with close friend and label-mate Ferry Tayle, called Vona, which is sure to be one of the highlights of Saturday’s set.

If you want a longer, more immersive preparation for Saturday’s adventure, check out the many sets he has posted on his social media, like this beauty from the A State Trance 800 show in Holland.

I also suggest you check out his remixes of Aly and Fila’s We Control the Sunlight and R&B group Years and Years’ Kings (a personal favourite from the video game FIFA 2016).

Tickets are still available online for a very reasonable price, so click this and grab yours ASAP. Remember to scroll back up to go enter the contest before it ends on Thursday, May 11th, 2017.

Three words that I would use to describe Dan Stone’s music are: anthemic, melodic and driving, so if that is what you are looking for in a trance night, or any night for that matter, then I’d better see you on the Populus dance floor this Saturday!
