In 2014, Above & Beyond tried something no other electronic music artist had done before – they went acoustic. Their studio album, Acoustic”, was globally praised and its success lead to their follow up album, “Acoustic II”, in 2016. The band is letting the fans into their world during those years with Above & Beyond Acoustic: Giving Up The Day Job. This documentary, produced by Abramorama and directed by Paul Dugdale and Myles Desenberg, follows their decision to go acoustic, focusing mainly on their second album in the series and the global tour that accompanied the record. The film is packed with behind-the-scenes footage of their acoustical journey, from recording the LP at Abbey Road Studio in London to playing a massive sold out performance at the Hollywood Bowl in California.

Giving Up The Day Job will make its initial debut in New York City at the end of January at Cinépolis Chelsea. Following the screening, there will be a special Q&A panel with the three members of the band: Jono Grant, Tony McGuinness, and Paavo Siljamäki. The film will continue on a tour of its own as a “one night only” feature in select theatres across North America.

The Toronto premiere takes place on February 23rd 2018 inside the Hot Docs Ted Rogers Cinema. General admission tickets are $11.50 plus service fees or you can purchase the Doc Combo (includes the screening, a beer, and a medium bag of popcorn) for $18. Arrive early as seating is first come, first serve. Doors are set to open at 8:45pm and the screening starts at 9:30pm.

It was love at first bass drop. Ashlyn became intensely drawn to the scene after her first show, a passion which has continuously blossomed ever since. Attended Las Vegas’ Electric Daisy Carnival in 2015, an unbelievable magical experience she'll cherish forever. You’ll always find her dancing in the middle of the crowd, connecting with the music, the lights, and the atmosphere. Dream on little dreamers!
