With the advent of 4/20 swiftly approaching, the biggest decision is which of four different psychedelic trance parties in Toronto to attend! My vote has been cast in the direction of the debut event of Goantao – the Six’s newest psychedelic trance promotional group – being held at Sound Xchange. Goantao is bringing us two international debut headliners, both from the recording label Dacru Records: Digicult and Bitkit – both hailing from Belgium. Supporting these A-list headliners are A-Fax and Psyslim. Promising debut party with high bpm throughout the night, this is a must-attend premier!
Digicult will be bringing to the table their style of epic melodic full on psychedelic trance with an old school touch. They have become a fan favourite across Europe playing events and festivals across Australia, Austria, Germany, Portugal, Denmark, Serbia, Greece, Ukraine. Italy, Switzerland, India and even played in their home country of Belgium. They have done remixes for several huge international names such as Astral Projection, Liquid Soul & Talla 2XLC, to name a few. In 2012, their third album ‘The Lucid Nation’ showed why they have stayed on top of the contemporary scene since their founding in 2003.
Since their third album they have quietly been releasing amazing remixes and phenomenal high bpm tracks. Expect classic-sounding full-on psy from them!
Bitkit discovered Psytrance in 2000 and started producing shortly afterwards. His music is described as high power, stomping, full on, uplifting trance – an emotional combination of pumping original basslines and deadly kick. Throughout his long career he has received support from all corners of the globe, and has performed all over Europe. He has even played at the infamous Baan Sabai parties in Thailand. In 2013, he joined the Belgian label Dacru Records. Career highlights include being invited to play at the Tree of Life Festival in Turkey and playing at Tomorrowland in 2013 – his second appearance at Tomorrowland as he had also spun at the festival three years earlier. Bitkit has just released his latest album “Convoluted Universe” last month (March 19, 2018) and it is currently a hit with all of the fans of Dacru Records and Bitkit.
