EP REVIEW: Greenhaven DJs First EP Release On Wake Your Mind Recordings OUT NOW!

Up-and-coming trance artists Greenhaven DJs have just released their first two-track EP on Wake Your Mind Recordings and it is amazing! The two tracks featured on the April 27th, 2018 release are The Unexamined and The Hall of Records feat. Brooke Tomlinson. You may recognize Brooke Tomlinson from Markus Schulz‘s track In The Night, which the Greenhaven DJs do a pretty killer remix. You can listen to the tracks below:

Nicolas Mendoza-Conner and Trevor Haimes, better known as the Greenhaven DJs, have been gaining a lot of momentum of late thanks in part to the help of Cosmic Gate‘s Label Wake Your Mind Recordings.

They met each other in a neighbourhood known as ‘Greenhaven’ which is located just southwest of White Plains, NY, and that should clarify how their name came to be. At the begin of their career, they put out releases on Echelon,  Flashover and Red Soho Recordings. Through those tunes they spawned their first original track, The Darkest Hour. Their big break came during a gig at Cielo Nightclub in New York City when they met one of the godfathers of trance, Paul Oakenfold. Oakenfold later signed their track Portal to his label.

They have been featured twice on Cosmic Gate’s compilation album “Wake Your Mind Sessions”; the first time with their popular track Portal to which Hall of Records is the follow up. The second time was with The Unexamined on WYM Sessions 003, which was the most recent at the time of writing this. The Greenhaven DJs’ two new tracks have also been featured on Ferry Corsten‘s Corsten’s Countdown radio show, as well as Markus Schulz’s Global DJ Broadcast.

The Greenhaven DJs have been a personal favourite of mine since I first heard their track Portal on one of the podcasts I used to listen to while delivering pizza back in the United States. I really love their dark, tech-infused trance sound. It has this perfect balance of “feels” versus energy that really speaks to me. For me, it is really exciting to see them start to make a name for themselves. I can’t wait to hear what they come up with next, and I hope they start touring soon, hopefully stopping in Toronto or a nearby city, because I really want to catch them play live.

Ryan was a writer for EDM TOR. His love affair with EDM blossomed during many trips to the local record shop growing up. He had to order releases from their catalogue since they wouldn't stock what they called "shitty computer music". Trance is his favourite electronic genre, but he loves all EDM from dark Techno to liquid Drum 'n Bass. Ryan is also a DJ and he moved to Toronto to be with his wife Jenn.
