Can we ever complain about more trance in Toronto? We’ve had our fill of trance parties in the recent months, including a brand new trance festival in Toronto, but on Saturday, June 30, 2018, the second party from the crew at Goantao brings us a new show, with new talent! This time we have another debut headliner who is a legend in the trance scene – DJ Domino. If Goa trance is your style, come on down to Sound Xchange for this slamming party.
Headliner DJ Domino was born in England and raised in Goa, India. She was the first female Goa trance DJ in the world which is an incredible feat! I have been listening to different tracks and sets by her recently since I personally had not heard of her until this awesome booking was announced. In the beginning, she was mixing tracks using her Walkman and started a collection of all kinds of music like Voodoo People, Juno Reactor, Hallucinogen, Eat Static and Resistance D. She was scouted as a model at a very young age, when she was eighteen she decided to challenge herself and become a DJ. Goa is a place of musical inspiration for many artists and DJ Domino was influenced by artists such as Yello, Front 242, The The, Ntizer Ebb and Kraftwork to name a select few. Her all-out style is full of dynamism and energetic melodies which she herself almost always trances out on while playing.
Djane Roch is one of the supporting acts for this event, and although Djane maintains a low profile, she runs the LOVE & LIGHT promotion company along that has been bringing psytrance festivals to Ontario over the past few years. She hosts a radio show every third Saturday of the month at 9PM on the trance channel found at www.sincity.fm. She will bring her blend of high bpm full-on slammers to the table when she rocks the Sound Xchange in a few weeks. I look forward to seeing what magic she will bring to the decks.
Sara Dopstar is back again for us Toronto psyfam! The Colombian beauty will grace us with her appetizing tracks and rolling basslines mixed with her symphonic melodies, laying out one deadly set. She usually starts off smooth with a fury of hard-hitting beats by the end of her sets, and she is not afraid to show her dark side every once in a while. Having seen her spin numerous times, I can confirm this sweetheart will not disappoint! Sara also has another alias, Alalune, which allows her to explore her love for techno beats, but for this party she will bring the fire with her collection of psytrance.
This party will not disappoint us psy lovers! The beats won’t stop until six in the morning, so come on down early and stay late for the full experience.
