Do you like it Pure? Trance Sessions returns to ONE LOFT on March 29, 2019, showcasing the deeper side of trance with the first-ever Pure Progressive night. Veteran producer, Solarstone, returns to Toronto bringing along with him some of his label’s finest; Italy’s Gai Barone and American producers Forerunners and Mir Omar. If you love deep vibes and long, slow builds, this is a night you will not want to miss.
Birmingham, UK’s Rich ‘Solarstone’ Mowatt has been dominating the trance waves for well over a decade. Since 2012, his Pure Trance movement has inspired producers to return to the roots of trance and truly embrace the heart and soul of the genre. His Pure Trance compilations are, in my opinion, some of the greatest collaborations the genre has to offer. The most recent iteration, “Pure Trance VII”, was released this past November and is one of my favourite records of last year. It doesn’t stop there. 2018 also saw the release of a full-length artist album, an intensive global tour schedule (including a gorgeous set at Luminosity Beach Festival), a continuation of his weekly, hour-long radio show (Pure Trance Radio), and the debut of the Pure Trance NEON label. After the success of his Pure Trance tour, Rich returns to Toronto this coming Friday to light up the room with the best in progressive
Gai Barone has a long history in the world of progressive house and trance. He developed a strong connection with music from a young age, learning to play the piano at age 4. He discovered house music in 1989 and fell deeply in love. By 1990 he was DJing all over Italy. Over the past 20-some years, he has explored the deepest corners of techno, house, trance and progressive, now putting forth his own dark, provocative, and deeply haunting sound. I am very excited to see what Gai Barone has in store for us after checking out the most recent episode of his radio show Patterns and newly released “The Bats EP”
You may remember the next artist from Solarstone’s 2016 compilation “Pure Trance V5”. Arizona’s Brenden LaBonte aka Forerunners has been producing a steady stream of releases over the last few years on labels such as Black Hole Recordings, Coldharbour Recordings, Saturate Audio and of course, Pure Progressive. His trademark sound combines hypnotic beats, and understated melodies that slowly build, layer upon layer, to draw the listener into a state of bliss. His set will be a journey for your soul and will be sure to leave you floating across the dance floor
The final Pure Progressive artist for the night hails from NYC. Mir Omar may be a relative newcomer to the scene compared to the others, but certainly should not be overlooked. Over the last few years, Mir Omar has made a name for himself in the progressive scene with his unique dreamy productions that tap directly into your emotions. His recent release Beyond was recently featured on Pure Trance Radio ep. 180 and I am certain we will be hearing a lot more from him in the upcoming months. Make sure to check out his set if you want a taste of what the future of progressive has in store
Trance Sessions is pleased to welcome back M45 to set the tone for the night. Hailing from Buffalo, M45 is no stranger to the Toronto scene. He will be warming us up with some sweet progressive vibes. Check out his recent release Don’t Wake Me (When I’m Living My Dreams) and be sure to show up early so you don’t miss out on any of the vibes.
