How would I describe the last 4 months? Long. Cold. Although Toronto has been graced with some top-tier talent already in 2019, it’s time to turn up the heat and usher in the summer by lighting up the dance floor until the sun rises. After March’s deeply beautiful Pure Progressive night, Trance Sessions is back! On Friday, May 3rd, 2019 One Loft will be host to Cold Blue and Factor B with support from Toronto’s own Brian David and Buffalo’s M45.
Germany’s Tobias Schuh, or as we know him – Cold Blue, returns to Toronto for the first time since U4RIA Trance Festival back in June 2018. His intensive 2019 tour schedule has him traversing the globe with shows in Australia, Malaysia, USA, Europe and of course the inaugural edition of Dreamstate Canada before finally landing in Toronto on May 3rd.
Over the last few years, Cold Blue has made a name for himself with incredible releases on Subculture, Black Hole Recordings, Future Sound of Egypt, and Kearnage, propelling him to the top of Beatport trance charts on a number of occasions and reaching #9 on the Trance Podium Top Producers of 2018. But what does 2019 have in store for us? In a recent interview, Cold Blue spoke of his near-completed upcoming artist album. While he has been hesitant to share what he’s been working on, perhaps if we are lucky we may get a taste of what the future has in store. If his most recent sets are any indication, we are in for a night of hard-hitting tech trance combined with dreamy euphoric uplifting breaks.
Check out Cold Blue’s most recent release …And Madness Remains:
When talking about the state of uplifting trance music today, the name on everyone’s lips is Factor B. Australian-born Brendan Blatt first came on to the scene back in 2014. Since signing his first track to Solarstone’s Pure Trance label in 2015 he has been releasing single after gorgeous single and uplifting audiences around the world. Prominent DJs in the trance scene quickly took notice and his stunning remixes and singles have been featured on other major trance labels such as Future Sound of Egypt, Subculture, Black Hole Recordings, and Who’s Afraid of 138?!. In 2017 he teamed up with Solarstone and Robert Nickson, mixing the third disc of the masterfully crafted “Pure Trance 6”.
Nearly a full year after his Toronto debut, Factor B returns to One Loft bringing with him his full arsenal of #propertrance. Expect to hear some of his dreamy remixes such as Chakra – Home (Factor B’s Back to the Future remix), John O’Callaghan feat. Deirdre McLaughlin – Stay With Me, Solarstone and Scott Bond – Red Line Highway, or the still yet unreleased remix of The Thrillseekers’ devastatingly beautiful heartbreaker, The Last Time. I can almost guarantee that we will be hearing his most recent team up with Cat Martin. This melodically airy beauty, Crashing Over, is certain to bring the feels.
Here is Factor B’s incredible set from May 2018 at One Loft for your listening pleasure:
When this event was announced, I could hardly contain myself. Two DJs of this calibre in such an intimate venue is an incredible gift. I was fortunate enough to catch Factor B and Cold Blue playing back to back sets at Dreamstate SoCal this past November and believe me, this is an event you will not want to miss. Check out Factor B’s set here and Cold Blue’s set here. Every time I see these guys their sets are even better than the last.
In addition to stellar international talent, we are so fortunate to have support from Trance Sessions resident DJs; Toronto’s Brian David and Buffalo’s M45. Whether playing back-to-back or solo, these two know how to bring the energy. Be sure to show up early and stay late to avoid missing out on some of the best local talent. Check the SoundCloud link below to immerse yourself in some their latest mixes through Trance Session Radio.
This night promises to be an incredible journey, leaving you in a state of unimaginable bliss. You will be floating across the dancefloor by the end of the night. It will be a night you do not want to miss so be sure to pick up a ticket right away! If you’re anything like me and just can’t get enough, you can also catch Cold Blue and Factor B Saturday night in Montreal alongside Giuseppe Ottaviani, Marco V, and Karl K-Otik at Circus for their 15th anniversary celebration.
See you on the dancefloor Toronto!
