Put on your best dancing PJs and break out your disco lights because trance is coming to your home, live! On Saturday, August 8, 2020, Club 77 presents veteran trance producer Andy Moor with support from DeeCee, Dowden, R8YZ and HNR Sound vs. Peter Smith all of whom will be streaming live from The Underground within the Seventy-Seven complex.

Hamilton, ON’s Club 77 has been a mainstay in the Ontario trance scene over the last few years presenting international talents such as Cosmic Gate, Markus Schulz, Simon Patterson and Andrew Bayer. They have put Hamilton on the map as one of southern Ontario’s hottest trance destinations. While their live, in-person events have been put on hold until the fall, their club night, Prime Saturdays, is in full swing streaming live on Facebook and Twitch. This, their third livestream event, will begin at 3:00 pm EST and run until 10:00 pm EST and will feature a showcase of local trance talents, as well as a full hour-long trance classics set by Andy Moor.

Andy Moor has been a pillar in the trance scene throughout the course of his 20+ year career. In this time he has continued to stay true to his signature trance sound while exploring other musical avenues with various side projects. He is one half of the duo, Whiteroom, whose title track is widely regarded as one of the greatest trance classics of all time. He briefly joined UK-electronic group, Tilt, in the early 2000s contributing to the release of their masterful and critically-acclaimed progressive trance record, “Explorer”. In 2005 he collaborated with Above & Beyond on a track called Air For Life, which was voted “Tune of the Year” by listeners of Armin Van Buuren’s radio show, A State of Trance. In 2006 he teamed up with house producer Leama to release an album entitled “Common Ground” as Leama & Moor. The album is a continuously mixed set that takes the listener through ambient soundscapes, acoustic rock, house breaks and trance and features the vocal talents of Jan Johnston and Luminary’s Ashley Tomberlin. In 2007 he was nominated for a Grammy for his remix of Canadian electronic duo, Delirium’s track Angelicus. In this time frame he also somehow managed to have time to found his own label, AVA Recordings, and start a bi-weekly podcast, Moor Music. He released his debut artist album, “Zero Point One”, in 2012 and has contributed to some of the most prolific mix compilations including Ministry of Sound’s “Trance Nation”, “A State of Trance 500”, and “In Search of Sunrise 14”. He will be broadcasting a classics set for our listening pleasure live from his home in the UK starting at 6:00 pm.

Kicking off the stream for the night, Club 77 presents one of their very own, R8YZ. Starting at 3:00 pm R8YZ will be warming us up with a deep and progressive set. He has been resident DJ at Seventy-Seven since 2013 and is a pro at getting bodies moving on the dance floor. Over the span of his career, he has had the opportunity to support many top-tier acts from around the world including Markus Schulz, Deadmau5, Above & Beyond, REZZ, Cosmic Gate, Nor En Pure, and more. Check out his opening set from 2019’s Solaris Winter Music Festival at Rebel, Toronto to get a taste for those sweet, deep progressive beats he will be laying down Saturday afternoon.

Starting at 4:30 pm, Toronto-native, Dowden will be taking over the decks. Fresh off the release of his single, White Rain, with Adrian Roman and likely still reeling from hearing Tony McGuinness play his track as a part of his Anjunabeats Deep Set live stream, Dowden comes to us with his own deep, melodic, progressive house/techno sound. In addition to a number of track/remix releases under his belt, he also runs a music production coaching/training program as well as offers mixing and mastering services. Check out his newest single on Clubsonica Records, White Rain.

Immediately following Andy Moor’s classic’s hour, the stream returns to Hamilton, ON with Toronto’s ever-versatile hometown hero and face of Electric Escape/U4RIA, DeeCee. While Andy Moor is a tough act to follow, DeeCee is well-equipped to maintain those trance vibes and keep us all on moving the way he does best. While he is a mainstay in the Toronto dance music scene, over the course of the lockdown has contributed sets to a number of online festivals across the country including London, ON’s NEC Events streams, True North Radio’s 3-year anniversary stream as well hosting U4RIA live stream events throughout the summer.

Closing the night we will be treated to a special set from Hamilton’s own HNR Sound and Peter Smith. Both artists dance the line between trance and progressive and while I have no idea where they are planning take us, I do know the beats will keep flowing. What I am certain we can expect from these two acts are incredible track choices, flawless mixing, and seamless interplay between the DJs, capping off the night at a modest 10:00 pm leaving the rest of the night open to your imagination.

Check out the official schedule above and join us on Facebook or Twitch for some summertime afternoon beats and a perfect evening of trance this coming Saturday!
