TRACK REVIEW: Nick Karsten – Love is Gone by Jenny Liang

9512468Fresh on the scene, Nick Karsten debuts his Trance career with one hell of a track. Releasing his first song Love is Gone on record label Euphonic Records, he has already accumulated nearly 3000 views on his video in roughly 3 weeks. Not bad for a rookie! Originating from Ljubljana, Slovenia, Nick kick-started his DJ career in the autumn of 2007; placing residency at a popular club back home and building a name for himself. On his newly released track, it features Lara Love, who is not only known for her amazing voice but also for her role as lead singer of a popular R’n’B/Pop band called LeeLooJamais.

What better way to get recognized then to have a big named celebrity helps you on your uprising? Founded 17 years ago, record label Euphonic wouldn’t sign just anyone; producers and founders Kyau & Albert put good faith in Nick as they always looks for new and creative artists and producers. Standing behind such names as: Marc Marberg, Sebastian Sand, Stoneface & Terminal; you know they have a solid front and only filter in the best.

The song starts off with a subtle build up, queuing in some vocals, and then blasts off with a beat that just makes you want to get up and dance! The lyrics “real love is gone” is repeated through the song, portraying the message that all hope is lost. If you listen to the lyrics, you can tell that this person has had their heart broken and is ready for a fresh start. Going into the breakdown, Nick throws in some funky syncs which leads right back into the chorus once again. Overall, I think it’s a great first track with a lot of potential on making a name in the scene. Keep doing what you’re doing Nick! I can’t wait to see what you do next!
