After bringing us legends like Vibrasphere, 1200 Micrograms, Ticon, U-recken, Bizzare Contact, Talamasca and many more, Progressive Monkey is all set to bring to Toronto a legend in the making, Egorythmia, all the way from Macedonia representing the much revered IONO Records. This gathering of souls swinging to the progressive psytrance sound will take place tonight, the 25th July 2015, 10 p.m. at Li’ly Lounge.
Egorythmia is Boban Lazovski whose attraction to psychedelic trance began with deep, dark tech-trance such as Dark Soho, The Delta, Atmos, Cosma and Midi Miliz; which soon evolved into a love for old school goa trance such as Man with No Name and Etnica. As it happens to many on the psytrance scene, Boban was hypnotized by the astonishing psychedelic trance sound while growing up in Skopje, Macedonia and he felt the urge to inculcate himself in the mysterious culture and create his own psychedelic interpretation adding a majestic branch to this massive tree of psytrance. In the year 2001, he started to gradually penetrate into the psy-culture, first as a DJ and party promoter, and as the urge to create his own mark increased, Lazovski started to make his own sound and so in 2008, the project Egorythmia was born.
Egorythmia’s unique sound can be easily recognized by it’s deep and dynamic punching bass lines layered with the emotional synth sequences which run seamlessly like a very well composed story just like his live sets that he plans on serving up in Toronto. He has already released music for recognized labels such as Blue Tunes and Iono Music and is on the way high up the ladder of progressive psychedelic trance.
After travelling all around the globe performing at the biggest festivals and parties, Egorythmia is finally coming down to Canada. Among the long list of illustrious festivals he’s performed at are Boom Festival, Fusion Festival, Ozora Festival, Antaris Festival, and Vuuv Experience Festival, he’s also created turbulence with his live sets in Israel, Brazil, Mexico and Australia. Along the way he met with many like-minded artists such as Ace Ventura, Ritmo, Zen Mechanics, Symbolic, E-Clip and Zyce with whom he’s collaborated on musical projects. These collaborations and his music have been released on various labels Blue Tunes, Iboga, Echoes, and Plusquam.
Helping in making this night a momentous one will be the local favorite and upcoming star of Toronto party scene Sara Dopstar spinning some fresh psychedelic tunes while Ina Matrex will be spinning Li’ly Lounge’s basement into a frenzy of foot stomping beats. Ina is a high energy performer known for his clean transitions and crisp pumping rhythms. Bringing some full-on psytrance sounds in his bag will be DJ Davide who guarantees a set that will keep your feet moving.
