Its always nice to see home town artists cook up something exotic with a little zing in the kitchen. Adam K of Toronto has presented us with his spin of the Chicago House classic dance track The Word is Love by Steve “Silk” Hurley. The groovy original track itself could fall under set lists from artists like Danny Tenaglia or Mark Oliver early in the AM. The track is given a very warm atmosphere by Adam K with some Deep House influenced additions. The remix brings you right back into summer, it would have been quite the treat to have this earlier. Regardless, through the cutting winter wind Adam K spoils us with tasteful high hats, and a groovy lead in his vision of The Word Is Love.
It is not often that Steve Hurley allows someone to remix one of his songs. Hurley himself was impressed with Adam’s remix, saying “Adam K has found a way to take my song to the tropics with a great remix. I can see myself along with the S&S Chicago crew on a sandy beach in Ibiza with the cool breeze blowing… what a soothing breath of fresh air!”.
Adam K has a wide sound stage in the house realm. His 15 years of DJ/Producer experience can be heard in this remix and throughout his Soundcloud. I am a big fan of his work in the progressive mix of Need to Feel Loved by Reflekt, its definitely one to check out if you don’t know it.
