Here to herald in spring with a spectacular progressive night, Progressive Monkey presents Scandinavian talent Morten Granau Live on Saturday, April 9th, 2016! Space Tribe is once again transforming the space at Club 120 with their own unique style, providing sweeping visuals to balance the stunning beats. Morten Granau headlines, both solo and in concert with Thomas Westerby as One Man Orchestra. They will be joined by Montreal native, Rikam, and Toronto’s own Kadmon – don’t expect to stand still on this night!

Morten Granau was a very early bloomer; he discovered Psytrance in 2001 at age 13 and almost immediately began experimenting with the style and creating his own tracks. By age 15 he was one of the youngest DJs ever, burning up dance floors in his native city of Copenhagen. His style resonates deeply with psychedelic and progressive trace, but mingles in a “clubby funkiness”. Morten Granau has created a varied sound that is uniquely his own. He first was recognized for a track called The Grudge, released under the project name High & Mighty, with fellow artist Phaxe, and continued to gain recognition with the 2008 track The Way Life Should Be. Morten continues to release music under his own name and under the label High & Mighty, as well as spin festivals and parties internationally.

Rikam, the performing name for Érik Amyot, has a heart for underground EDM, and began organizing Psytrance events in Trois-Rivieres and his hometown of Montreal in 1994. Neurobiotic Records picked him up as label DJ alongside other greats like Earthling, Polaris, and Joti Sidhu, but Rikam eventually launched his own label – TechSafari Records. He also continues to organize events through TechSafari Productions. His projects include Eclipse Festival, Amazone Halloween Ritual, and Orion NYE, among others. Widely experienced and well-travelled, Rikam is constantly seeking new energy and inspiration while breaking down borders, both physically and musically.

One Man Orchestra, a Danish collaborative project between Morten Granau and Thomas Westerby promises “an ongoing opus magnum of rousing electronic grooves”. Exploiting their harmonic skills, this duo use tech, bass, and House tones to create the sound that gained them to international recognition in the contemporary club music scene.

Kadmon – the lone local on the playlist for this event – is well known as the founder of the One Love Movement collective. Musically, he favours a style that blends Psytrance and House themes, infused with progressive Techno rhythms. Inspirationally, Kadmon seeks to tell an emotional story through his performances, taking listeners and dancers on a musical, psychedelic journey that will leave you breathless. Don’t miss it!

Doors open at 10pm, and tickets can be found here, but don’t delay: the first block of tickets is already sold out! Tickets are 30$ until April 1, 35$ between April 2-8, and more at the door, if not sold out by then! See you on the dance floor!

Happy Raving!
