Seeking the perfect St. Patrick’s Day party? Look no further – Electric Star Productions (ESP) is celebrating their 1-Year Anniversary – on St. Patrick’s Day! If you’ve ever been to an ESP event, you know they know how to throw a party right: amazing music, fantastic decor, and signature drink specials at the bar! Club 120 will be the place to be Friday, March 17th, 2017, for Kiss Me I’m Raving – a genre-crossing romp that showcases the heart of ESP and what they’ve been doing for the last year: showcasing diversity in dance to unite the EDM scene across the city!

Electric Star Productions has been organizing events for a whole year now! Through the hard work and dedication of their members, Toronto blasted off at their Spacekraft Launch Party and has barely touched down since! The journey has stretched from Electric Circus tribute Dance Night 95, joined the ongoing galactic war with Tranceformers, and brought back the PLUR at Oldschool Vibes. At least one weekend a month, ESP provided an opportunity to absorb some of the best local sounds as they sought to revive the rave scene within the city. For Kiss Me I’m Raving, ESP has carefully selected a genre-crossing lineup for this event, aimed at uniting the various rave scenes in their favorite activity – dance!

Marty McFly is a veteran and legend in the Canadian rave scene with over 30 years experience behind the decks. One of the original breakbeat DJ’s Marty McFly has graced stages across North America through his career and continues to drop great beats on dance floors each and every time he performs.

Capital J has always been passionate about music. At a young age he began participating in scratch battles in his native London, Ontario, and was one of the youngest to win several of these competitions. While still in highschool, he produced, managed and performed dozens of hip-hop projects, including one signed by a major label. With 20 years in the music industry, Capital J is known for spinning solid DnB and dubstep, and staying true to his own original style.

Killah Emcee first discovered his talent at the age of 17, but didn’t truly focus on his potential until several years later when he returned to MC’ing and began performing at Toronto venues like Turbo Night Club, The Big Bop, Sound Academy (now Rebel), The Opera House, and System Sound Bar. Over 10 years later, Killah Emcee has performed with many headliners and legends, including Capital J.

ESP’s first collaboration with John MacDonald of Entranced Island was ESP’s Euphoria event, and he later returned to the decks at Tranceformers: The Galactic War. Once again, MacDonald will grace us with more beautiful trance and I, for one, can’t wait!

Heersink and Cell Revival will be performing a special B2B set. The duo formed their own company, Equinox Entertainment, which they use to “bring underground sound to the masses”. For the last 2 years, Cell Revival has hosted Toronto’s only reoccurring Open Decks DJ sessions, presenting local talent with a unique opportunity to gain experience in a club setting. Holding a residency at Bassline Music Bar and performing at venues like OneLoft, and Populus and other local hot spots has given Cell Revival a fresh perspective and a rare window of influence on the Toronto EDM scene.

Another Toronto rave veteran, DJ Tranzit has spun in nearly every genre at some point. His current project, TDotLove, a monthly Saturday night event at Bassline Music Bar, focuses on DnB, and his weekly radio show goes live to air Wednesdays at 8pm and can be accessed on YouTube.

MC Zee has been performing for over 10 years at some of the biggest events in the city and shared the stage with music legends from multiple industry genres. Zee enjoys hyping the crowds at events like WEMF, Weekend Warriors, Toronto Drum and Bass Awards, Marijuana March, and many others. ESP has managed to drag him away from his current projects to bring you a night you won’t forget!

Velociraver is another example of homegrown Toronto talent, and has performed at Anime North for the last several years. Spinning mostly Hardcore, Trance, and DnB, Velociraver has shared the decks with local legends DJ Dynamic, DJ Saiyan, and Flyboy and is always prepared to bring some fire to the dance floor and drive that bpm!

Deejay Tempest was discovered in Hamilton and signed as a resident for Round Table Records at a sold out show that ended early due to being over capacity. That first impression in 2004 started him on a career that has given him the chance to play at venues across Toronto including The Docks (now Rebel), Pulse, Turbo, and The Opera House. He has also spun internationally – notably, for Hardcore ‘Til I Die In the Sun in Lloret De Mar, Spain, and he also co-hosts on Toronto Hardcore Radio.

Doors open at 10pm for this 19+ event, and tickets are $15 for advance here and $20 at the door. However, if you are a long-time ESP attendee, there are two specials that will allow you to get cheaper admission! Wear your ESP pin to pay the advance price at the door, OR show your FULL set of all seven ESP DJ All-Star cards at the door to get in for FREE!

See you on the dance floor!

Jade is an editor and writer at Tranceported. She moved to Toronto in 2015 and dove head first into the city’s rave scene. Drawn most strongly to trance, psytrance, and happy hardcore genres, she can be found on the dance floor at least once or twice a week in different venues across the city.
